One of the latest, and hottest fitness crazes is here at Hale Country Club, and we can’t wait for you to come along and try out Barre Yoga, or any of our other Barre variations.
WHAT IS THE BARRE WORKOUT?
There are actually many different kinds of Barre workouts, although the one thing they all share in common is the use of a ballet barre. It’s that traditional wooden bar which is used to help improve the flexibility, balance and coordination in ballet dancers.
But don’t worry, you don’t need to have dreams of performing Swan Lake or have any ballet dancing skills at all to enjoy a barre workout.
Workouts like Barre Yoga will focus on building your inner strength, challenging your stability and targeting your core.
WHAT WILL I DO?
Every class will be different, but generally, turn up expecting an exciting, innovative yoga class, and you won’t be disappointed,
You’ll do the workout barefoot, and will need the same kind of clothing you’d wear in a yoga class.
Performing postures you’ll be used to from your yoga class, you will be using your own bodyweight for resistance which helps to really firm your muscles and build up strength.
You’ll likely be practicing some isometric movements, which is where you a hold a position and pulse, contracting a set of muscles in a small range of motion for a set period of time, sometimes for as long as you can hold the position.
You may also use some props like balls and light handheld weights, again similar to what you might have used in some yoga classes.
SO WHY TRY A BARRE YOGA WORKOUT?
Barre Yoga is ideal for anyone who leads a busy, at times stressful lifestyle, because it’s designed to give you an all round workout, both for your body and your mind.
The short workouts are ideal for those on the go all the time, because they will help calm and relax you, giving you some much needed breathing time, as well as providing some challenging exercises.
And you’ll get results too. Many people who try Barre workouts see noticeable changes in a short period of time. It could be just what you need to compliment your cardio routines, aiding the toning of muscles and helping you to achieve a sleek physique.
It will also improve your concentration too, as you focus your mind on those small body movements and holding specific positions.
You don’t need any dance experience, coordination or beat matching ability either!
Come on down to the club, and try out our Barre Yoga class. And don’t forget to give our other variation, such as Barre HIIT and Total Barre too, to find your favourite.
