[2:34 PM] Joshua Areogun: The Benifits Of HIIT
[2:34 PM] Joshua Areogun: HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is based around the premise of working to incredibly high outputs for reduced periods of time then resting quickly. This type of workout is particularly effective for those that don’t have much time to train. It also allows more inventiveness with workouts allowing you to switch between bodyweight and resistance with ease. For those of you wanting to lose bodyfat we recommend implementing HIIT into your routine around 3 times a week for 30 minutes. This will have a hugely beneficial impact on your fat loss. However, the benefits don’t just stop at fat loss. You will also notice an improvement in your overall fitness – HIIT allows you to increase your blood lactate threshold, meaning you can perform at higher intensities for longer periods of time, this is particularly beneficial to sports people. You will also notice an improvement in your metabolic rate. HIIT training has a direct effect on EPOC (Exercise Post Oxygen Consumption) meaning you will continue to burn calories at an accelerated rate long after the session has finished.Perhaps the most overlooked benefit of HIIT is its ability to build mental resilience. There’s no getting away from it, HIIT is difficult, but by consistently completing these sessions you will discover a mental toughness you may not know you possessed. Why not try the following workout and let us know how you get on;EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute) 15 minutesBEGINNER15 air squats
